It was a disappointing night for the Bluebirds who crashed out of the Nathaniel MG with a 0-2 defeat to Barry Town United on a wet and miserable evening at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium.
The patient Bluebirds faithful were made to wait a little longer than usual for kick off, with a slightly delayed kick-off due to the away team being held up on their travels.
With the match underway in difficult conditions, the host's first significant opening came after 18 minutes with Greg Walter's just firing wide after a good cross from Alaric Jones in the box.
As the half went on both teams continued to battle on the wet surface, with the scoreline remaining tight at 0-0 going into the break.
It didn't take long for the deadlock to be broken in the second period with the visitors receiving a penalty, calmly dispatched into the left corner, sending 'keeper Ifan Knott the wrong way.
As the Bluebirds battled to get back into the game, their best opportunity came through Corey Shephard who's excellent ball was headed onto the bar by Dan Hawkins.
Barry doubled their lead in the 66th minute, Ieuan Owen calmly guiding in a header to make it 2-0.
Things could have been worse for the Bluebirds, with Knott being superbly called into action late on to deny the visitors a third goal.
Next up for the Bluebirds is a JD Cymru Premier League fixture on Saturday (8th November) away to high-flying Caernarfon Town.
