Match photos as Goodwick United 2nds won the Manderwood Pembrokeshire Division Three Cup with a penalty shoot-out victory over Solva on Friday 3rd May 2024 at the Ogi Bridge Meadow Stadium.
Having just missed out on promotion, the Phoenix Boys would have been keen to end the season on a high with some silverware.
Their opponents Solva were one of the teams who pipped them to promotion, with this always set to be a close encounter. In the end it was exactly that, with nothing separating either side after 120 minutes before Hayden Smith's winning penalty secured the win for Goodwick.
Goodwick had taken the lead in the 77th minute when experienced forward Dan Bryce, a first half replacement for Keegan Summers, scored from the penalty spot.
Solva responded just eight minutes later through one of their Semi-Final goalscorers, Kieran Price.
After finishing 1-1, the two sides played extra time with no further goal action. Solva were reduced to ten men in the 114th minute when Morgan Elliott saw red.
After nine penalties each, Goodwick were finally crowned champions when Haydn Smith fired his penalty into the roof of the net.
